Have a Stuffed Animal Storytime Adventure!

Bring your child’s furry friends to life while encouraging a love of reading.

This activity is perfect for a bookstore, a library or for a young children’s group. Children love to imagine their favorite stuffed animal or character come to life.

We are proud to partner with Paw Print Publishing and the creators (Britt Gondolfi and Amanda Romanick) of the new book Look Up: Fontaine the Pigeon Starts a Revolution – Paw Prints Publishing. We’re all very excited to share this charming new story that makes the screen-time chat with kids a breeze.

Here are two options for activities you can explore:

1) Coordinate having a pajama storytime where kids bring their stuffed animal (dinos and action figures welcome of course too!) for this special storytime at the chosen venue. As a take-away activity, kids can be encouraged to start reading to their furry friends on a daily basis.

2) Add some excitement and make it a slumber party for the stuffed animals! Have kids drop off their animal/character to the chosen venue the day/night before the storytime event. The animals and kids get matching name tags and then the animals get tucked in for the night. Once the kids leave, staff can take pictures of the animals getting into mischief. The next morning the kids are reunited with their buddies, get to see and hear about the Shenanigans and it concludes with a PJ storytime.

You can download your FREE “Look Up” Kit which comes with a flyer, instructions, event tips and coloring sheets. Everything you need to promote and coordinate this kind of event! Email info@unplugcollaborative.org if you have questions or would like an editable version.

Below are some examples of photos you can take to capture the animals getting into mischief. Post these on a poster board or make booklets for the kids if time allows.

At check in time kids fill out “Fauxto” releases for their toy buddies.
