The Unplug Collaborative is proud to partner with the The Kindness Rocks Project™ . Join us by painting a kind message on a rock because "One message at just the right moment can change someone's entire day, outlook or life" including YOURS!
Painting rocks is a therapeutic and mindful activity. Plan a time to organize a group to decorate rocks. Gather art supplies (brushes, acrylic paint, paint pens, Mod Podge) at craft stores or see link below. You can buy rocks in bulk at Home Depot or a craft store, or if you find some in nature, wash and let them dry before painting. If you have a group and limited time, paint the base color of the rocks earlier so they can dry. Write fun, commemorative or inspirational words. Some ideas include “Smiles Rock” or “Unplug & Share a Smile”. Help us get more people to unplug by writing #GDU2022 somewhere on your rock or print and use these labels. Make sure to use Mod Podge or a sealant on your rocks afterwards. When you are done you can bring decorated rocks to a senior center, park, a friend or just someone on the street.
